Shot library

Browse every shot's still and clip history, project reference plates, and promote archived takes — separate from the Gallery render grid.

Shot library lives under Resources in the Project Plan sidebar (not a numbered step). It is your project-wide media drawer: reference plates from Inputs, planner chat uploads, and every shot's current and archived APP stills and rendered clips.

Gallery (step 13) is the director's grid — one tile per shot, detail view, and batch-friendly inspection. Use Shot library when you need history per shot, to swap hero stills from older takes, or to pick a file from anywhere in the project (including the Choose from gallery control on upload surfaces).

What this is for

  • See all still takes for a shot (hero + archived) and promote an older still to hero — what Timeline and video generation follow.
  • Browse rendered clips per shot on the Videos tab.
  • Review environment, location, cast, and chat reference images without opening each planner step.
  • Pick a still or clip when another screen offers Choose from gallery (opens the same library in a modal).

Before you start

  1. A project is selected in the studio header (same mix as the rest of Project Plan).
  2. For shot rows to appear, you usually need a locked shot scaffold and some generates — empty rows mean nothing was written to disk yet.
  3. Know the difference: Gallery = curated grid per shot; Shot library = chronological / archival view and references.

Open Shot library

  1. Open Project Plan.
  2. Under Resources in the left rail (or the compact strip on small screens), choose Shot library.
  3. Use Images vs Videos at the top — the URL updates (/project-plan/shot-library or …/videos).

Images tab

  1. Reference sections at the top list plates from Inputs, environments, locations, cast, and planner chat — click a thumbnail for the lightbox.
  2. Shot rows list scaffold shots in order. Each row shows the hero still and archived APP takes.
  3. Click a thumbnail to preview in the lightbox.
  4. On an archived still, use Set as hero or the top-left green tick (same checkbox as Gallery and Environment chat) so video and Timeline use that frame.

Videos tab

  1. Switch to Videos — each shot row lists rendered clips when they exist.
  2. Click a thumbnail to play in the lightbox.
  3. Failed or missing clips usually mean Generate never finished for that shot — fix on Generate or the shot card, then refresh.

Habits

  • After a regenerate on Generate, check the shot's row here if the hero didn't update — promote the take you want.
  • When Inputs references change, refresh mentally — old stills may still show until you regenerate.
  • Prefer Gallery for "which shot needs love?"; prefer Shot library for "which take of this shot is hero?"
