12. Generate

Run batches of stills and clips across your shots — plus notes that apply to every render.

Generate is where you run lots of images and videos at once, watch progress, and use quick regenerate shortcuts. Gallery is where you open one shot and polish with the full detail panel — use both.

What this step is for

Cover your scaffolded shots with usable media without opening every shot manually first.

Before batches run

The screen checks that you’ve finished earlier work. Until these are satisfied you’ll see a warning at the top:

  1. Shot scaffold approved — shot list exists.
  2. Shot direction locked — every shot has direction text + camera.
  3. Filming style locked — one overall look chosen.

Fix the step named on screen in Project Plan, then come back.

What’s on this page

  • Render help — ask why something failed or what a message means; previews show how your briefs go out together.
  • Batch stills / batch video — broad renders across many shots.
  • Quick regenerate strip — shorter path to redo one shot without leaving.
  • A reminder that Gallery holds the full shot grid and deep controls.
  • Cast & continuity — reminds you that per-actor wardrobe and personality live under Inputs; there’s a shortcut Open Step 1 when you need it.
  • Notes for every generation — optional box whose text is added to every still and video for this project (saved when you click away). Use Inputs for per-person rules; use this for whole-video notes everyone should respect.

What to do

  1. Confirm scaffold, shot direction, and filming style are complete (see above).
  2. Open Generate.
  3. Use Render help if a failure message is unclear.
  4. Start image and/or video batches; read status lines under each area.
  5. If you change cast, mix, or major direction upstream, expect to run batches again after re-locking earlier steps.

  • Gallery — zoom in shot by shot, swap models, regenerate with full tools.
  • Shot library (Resources) — browse hero + archived stills and clips per shot; promote a take to hero without opening Gallery.
  • Timeline — preview scaffold order, generate narration / export (Subtitles burn-in or MP4 + .en.srt (ZIP)); narration and accessibility tie in here when you use them.
