Acts maps parts of the editorial timeline to dramatic chapters — setup, clash, dream sequence — so your shot list later knows why shots belong together emotionally.
The clock comes from Inputs:
- Full mix — sections and downbeats from Audio analysis (typical music video).
- Fixed length or from narrative — your target seconds from Step 1 (and Song read estimate if applicable); the app uses a simplified act grid on that runtime.
The app opens Acts after Concept is approved, along with the earlier steps (Inputs through Environment chat with your world look set). If you see Earlier step isn’t ready, finish those first (including a valid runtime when Inputs isn’t on full mix).
What this step is for
An approved act map that ties lyrics and sections to feelings, feeding Locations and Shot scaffold.
What to do
- Open Acts.
- For each section / row, give it a job (“setup”, “confrontation”, “dream”).
- Link mood back to Concept and Song read.
- If the machine merged or split sections oddly, adjust until it matches how you hear the song.
- Save as you go; approve when stable.

When acts change
If you unlock Concept or redo audio analysis in a big way, revisit Acts and usually regenerate scaffold afterward.
